KEYSTONE+ PROJECT - Bees

Bees are the most important pollinators on earth. Bee pollinated plants provide fleshy berries and other fruit to sustain wildlife. At least 30% of our agricultural crops depend on bees to move pollen between flowers. Other products also depend on bee pollination such as medicines made from fruits and seeds, and cloth made from cotton. Bees are also important in other ways. Their tunneling in the ground aerates the soil, allowing rainwater to reach plant roots. In addition, they are food for lizards, mammals, birds, insects, and spiders.
