ABSTRACT PHOTOGRAPHY
Working in abstraction, it is imperative to be curious, open, and trusting. It is a process in playful abandon and breathless discovery. This series uses multiple exposures interacting with each other to create unique, complex portrayals of nature. The images are created with a variety of sources including flowers, leaves trees, rocks, clouds, skies, mountains, and streams.
Departing from the realistic representation of single exposure photography pushes me out of my comfort zone. It forces me to leave behind controlled outcomes and inhabit the world of surprise. The process has been transformative, connecting me with my intuition and its relationship to sensory experience. It has led me to a deeper appreciation of myself and my connection to the environment.
